Caring Bridge 02/04/2011

If your pirate is one that has attacked your health, or that of a loved one, one of the best ways to tell your story and keep others posted is through a marvellous website called Caring Bridge. Let me quote from their "About us" page:

"CaringBridge provides free websites that connect people experiencing a significant health challenge to family and friends, making each health journey easier. CaringBridge is powered by generous donors.

"CaringBridge websites offer a personal and private space to communicate and show support, saving time and emotional energy when health matters most. The websites are easy to create and use. Authors add health updates and photos to share their story while visitors leave messages of love, hope and compassion in the guestbook."

Got a pirate story? Ready to use it to encourage someone else?

Email us, telling your story in less than 1,000 words, or providing links to already existing published records of your journey.

Like an attack by real pirates, your life difficulty must have been something that happened both unexpectedly and suddenly. It must also have changed your life and or lifestyle in significant ways.

Please include an element (or a few) of inspiration. Consider answering: What has been your strength? What were the most helpful things others did to lift you doing the worst of times? What has helped your transition into calmer waters--or what is keeping you stable in ongoing difficulty? And what good things have emerged from your difficulty?

Whatever you send, we promise we'll review. We'll post as many as meet the above criteria here, and may ask to use your story in an upcoming book.
